ONE POSSIBLE SCIENTIFIC REASON WE ARE ATTRACTED TO SPARKLY THINGS

See it? See that ring below. It SPARKLES. I'll bet you're attracted to it RIGHT NOW.

Yes - the image is moving, so that is one reason why you are looking at it. And when a burst of light crosses your field of vision - such as this lens flare - you are going to notice it.
But here is another reason why we may be attracted in particular to shiny things - they remind us of water.
According to research, shiny objects remind us of how light from the sun reflects upon the surface of water. Water, the basic building block of life and our vital nutrient as an alive being, is absolutely necessary for our survival. Could it be that we are attracted to sparkly objects simply because of our survival instinct???
Makes you think differently about the general glitter obsession.

Now, how about doing some shopping for a nice new sparkly ring, pair of earrings, or necklace? It's biological.
